Provider spotlight shines on Dr. Gregory M. this month. Dr. M. has worked with Wapiti since 2020. We are proud to call him a member of our team.
Medical Career
A native of Michigan, Dr. M. says he chose a medical career because it was an “honorable profession.” His favorite professional memory was carrying his newborn daughter in his arms as he walked across the stage to graduate from medical school. It represented the culmination of his hard work and the excitement of beginning a new phase in his life.
Family
Family is at the center of Dr. M’s life. He says convincing his wife, Sommer, to marry him is his proudest personal accomplishment. The couple have two amazing children- daughter Chelsea and son Alex. Dr. M. and his wife take great pride in all their accomplishments. Three dogs round out the family.
Self-Care
Dr. M. understands the importance of work/life balance. However, he says he sometimes needs a “kick in the head” to prioritize self-care. In addition to family time, he loves being outdoors, pursuing interests such as fishing and snowmobiling. These activities satisfy his taste for adventure and exploration.
Locum Life
Like many physicians, Dr. M. says the opportunity to work in many different settings influenced his decision to become a locum. He enjoys the challenge of navigating new hospital systems. When asked for advice for aspiring locums, Dr. M. says, “Keep an open mind and be honest and humble. Success is a team effort”.
